Items to be aware of:
Chapel
- Chapel will be held in the lunchroom this year to help with heating and acoustics.
- We invite you to join us on Wednesdays from 8:15 to 8:50 am!
- Once classes head down to Chapel a little before 8:15am the upstairs door is locked (unless someone is in the office). You can come around to the back/kitchen entrance and knock.
Computers.
- If any families here at Stayton Christian School are in need of a computer, please contact Mr. Neely. We have extra computers in the attic, and we would like to have them get some use.
Planners
- Students in 3rd-7th grades are provided with planners in order to facilitate home-school communication, as well as to help students keep track of homework and develop organizational skills.
- Parents should check their child’s planner every school day during the time their child is working on homework. Once parents have read over the day’s entry, please sign it so that Mr. Neely or Miss Bigelow know that parents have seen it.
Progress Reports
- In order to maximize instructional time, students will not be receiving quarterly progress reports this year.
- Instead, parents will be notified prior to midterm (half way through the quarter) IF a student is not meeting academic or behavioral expectations.
School Hours
- Just a reminder that school begins at 8:00am for Pre-K through 7th grade and 1st through 7th are dismissed at 2:40pm.
- The door will be open downstairs at 7:50am.
- If your child arrives after 8:00am the downstairs door will be closed so please have your child walk up the outside stairs and check in at the office before heading to class.
Uniforms
- Please check your Uniform Guidelines to ensure that your student meets dress code. Uniform Exchange day was held in August, but we still have lots of extra uniform clothes that are in good condition and are free of charge! Please feel free to arrange a time to look through the clothes we have available, especially as your child grows throughout the year.
