                                                S.C.S. Student Life

Curriculum:

SCS uses A Beka, Bob Jones, Life Way and ACSI curriculums. They are
nationally recognized Christian academic programs.  Their content, scope,
and sequence have been established upon years of research and
successful use in classrooms around the world.

The school also conducts a full battery of achievement and ability testing
each April.  SCS students have consistently scored middle to high in
achievement or their ability levels. Oregon State Benchmarks testing is
given to 3
rd and 5th grades.

Chapel:

Weekly chapel and daily Bible study allow for the total integration of
Christian values in the lives of our students. These are not separate
activities, but extensions of lessons learned throughout our school
experience.

Dress Code:

Students are to wear the specified school uniform.  We have a uniform
catalogue available for reference in the office, however, you may purchase
uniforms from any provider as long as the clothing meets the school
standards as given in our uniform guidelines policy. This policy is included
with your registration materials.  Please review it carefully as it outlines
the SCS uniform policy.

Parent Alliance:

The Parent Alliance is the parent organization that performs several critical
functions in our school.  The PA officers are elected each year by members
of the school and in turn solicits committee leaders to oversee fundraising,
events, "helping hands" and acts as a springboard for great ideas.  The
Parent Alliance President for 2009- 2010 is Mrs. Alyssa Worst.

Moms in Touch:

Our Moms in Touch meeting is held each Monday morning at 8:30 a.m., at
Foothills Church.  Please join us in lifting up our staff, family and student
body in prayer each week.

Parent Visitors:

Visitors must check in at the office located on the second floor.  Parents
are encouraged to visit the classroom, but should come to the office to
check in as well.  If you would like to observe a class, please make
arrangements with the classroom teacher or administrator.
